Name: | 10" Round File (Bastard Cut) |
Description: | The 10” Round File (Bastard Cut) is a 10 inch rounded metal file tool with a tapered point, allowing for adaptation to numerous hole sizes. This metal file features a double bastard cut pattern, where the double refers to the two sets of diagonal rows of teeth cut on top of each other. Heavier pressure is usually applied with these two sets of teeth in order for rapid removal of material. The bastard cut of this round metal file means it has medium to large sized teeth, providing a high coarseness for aggressive cutting and high stock removal. The shape of this file makes it perfect for rounding out or enlarging circular openings. Other uses for this file include finishing or deburring concave surfaces, filing inside of pipes, and creating semicircular grooves. Because of its narrow points, this file is also commonly used in sculpting. * For safety reasons, a file should never be used without a handle. Clean with a wire file cleaner if it gets clogged. |
