The M.K. Morse Company’s Master Cobalt Reciprocating Saw Blade for Wood are some of the best blades in the world today for cutting wood, wood composites and nail embedded wood. Each Master Cobalt sawzall blade features state of the art bi-metal construction which combines a high-carbon steel beam that with a laser welded cobalt-steel alloy cutting edge. The carbon steel body provides break-resistance and flexibility while the cobalt alloy teeth provide high speed cutting, heat resistance, increased hardness and maximum durability. On average, a bi-metal recip blade will outlast a standard carbon steel blade 10 times but, with the addition of the Master Cobalt’s cobalt steel cutting edge these reciprocating blades will even outlast standard bi-metal blades, making them some of the longest lasting blades available anywhere. Master Cobalt Wood reciprocating saw blades also feature a tapered body with a pointed nose, allowing for plunge cutting into the center of wood work pieces if needed. Master Cobalt Reciprocating Saw Blades have conventional shanks making them universally compatible with standard reciprocating saws and sawzall’s of any brand.
The 6” x ¾” x .035” Master Cobalt Recip Saw Blade for Wood with 6 TPI is 6 inches long, ¾” wide, .035” thick and has 6 Teeth Per Inch. This combination of specifications provides the following advantages: 6” inch blades are more rigid than longer blades resulting in a straighter cut. 6” inch long recip blades are the perfect size for cutting work pieces that are 3 to 4 inches wide (Your blade length should be 2" - 3" longer than the width of the wood you are cutting to prevent slipping. Additionally, your blade should not be so much longer than your material or else wobbling and vibration can occur.). The 3/4” width allows the blade to resist bending and vibration to further enhance its ability to create straighter, faster cuts. The .035” thickness is considered “standard” thickness and perfect for general purpose cutting. Saw saw blades with .035” thickness have some flex if it is required. The .035” thickness also cuts faster than thicker blades, minimizes material loss, and leaves a small kerf on your work piece. Finally, 6 TPI is the main component that sets these “Wood” blades apart from “Metal” cutting blades. Lower TPI blades (6 and under) are better for use on softer material such as wood. 6 TPI blades cut fast and are ideal for rough in, general purpose wood cutting but can also cut through tree limbs, support beams, plywood or any other nail ridden piece of wood.
