Product Description

8" Buffing Wheel Rake

The BHA 8" Buffing Wheel Rake features a 4-1/2" long x 2" wide steel rake plate with 4 sets of teeth attached to an ergonomically designed wooden shaft. This rake is designed to remove residual buffing compound from the buffing wheels to prolong each buffs useful life and maintaining consistent buffing action. You should use this buffing rake when too much compound is applied or the compound has hardened on the edges. To use this buffing rake simply run the polisher, pedestal grinder, or lathe at normal speed and carefully allow the rakes teeth to make contact with the spinning buff. This rake has a single handle and compact design for easy use with one hand.

When to Rake a Buff: When too much compound is applied to the buffing wheel it can harden and burn onto the edge of the buff. This reduces the efficacy of the buffing wheel and the rake is used to remove this compound build up. If you notice a significant decrease in the residual aluminum dust built up around the metal surface while building rake the buff and apply a small amount of compound.

Rugged Rake

This is all a new process for me. I have been using it to rake my buffing wheels and it seems to work fine.
