The M.K. Morse Company’s PRO Auto / Fire & Rescue Blade for Metal is setting the standard for metal cutting reciprocating saw blades on the market today. Each PRO Auto / Fire & Rescue sawzall blade features state of the art bi-metal construction which combines a high-carbon steel body with cobalt-steel alloy teeth. The carbon steel body provides break-resistance and flexibility while the cobalt alloy teeth provide high speed cutting, heat resistance, increased hardness and maximum durability. On average, a bi-metal recip blade will outlast a standard carbon steel blade 10 times but, with the addition of the PRO Auto / Fire & Rescue’s cobalt steel cutting edge these reciprocating blades will even outlast standard bi-metal blades, making them some of the longest lasting blades available anywhere. The PRO Auto / Fire & Rescue metal reciprocating blade is the best choice for cutting any machinable metal up to ¼” (6.4 mm) in thickness and features an angled nose making it perfect for plunge cutting. Morse's PRO Auto / Fire & Rescue Reciprocating Saw Blades have conventional shanks making them universally adaptable to standard reciprocating saws and sawzall’s of any brand.
The 9” x 1” x .050” PRO Auto / Fire & Rescue Blade for Metal with 14 TPI is 9 inches long, 1” wide, .050” thick and has 14 Teeth Per Inch. This combination of specifications provides the following advantages: 9" inch long recip blades are the perfect size for cutting work pieces that are 6 to 7 inches wide (Your blade length should be 2" - 3" longer than the width of the material you are cutting to prevent slipping. Additionally, your blade should not be so much longer than your material or else wobbling and vibration can occur.) . The 1” width allows the blade to resist bending and vibration even more than 3/4" blades to further enhance its ability to create straighter, faster cuts. The .050” thickness is considered “HEAVY DUTY” and thus it is perfect for aggressive cutting applications that require heavier feed pressure such as cutting through thicker dense metals. Saw saw blades with .050” thickness are more rigid, durable, and resist vibrating or bending. The .050” thickness leaves a larger kerf width so it is not recommended on jobs requiring precision or where flexibility is needed. Finally, 14 TPI cuts metal more quickly than blades with higher TPI but still leaves a fairly smooth cutting area. These 9 inch reciprocating blades are designed to cut metal but due to the 14 TPI they can also be used on wood, nail-embedded wood, composites, rubber, plastic, plaster, and other common building materials. Formerly known as "Master Cobalt" blades. MADE IN AMERICA.
